Twitter launches 'Birdwatch,' a forum to combat misinformation

“Birdwatch allows people to identify information in Tweets they believe is misleading or false, and write notes that provide informative context,"

How’s that different from regular tweets besides formatting?

5y agoHN ↗

Birdwatch is their version of the Watchmen, they are above normal users. Everyone else is just a bird.

the whole site and most of its population is garbage, spewing trash

5y agoHN ↗

Ha, you can also apply that to FB, IG and Tiktok imo

I wouldn't call my 85 year old father on Facebook trash.

His brain is failing like everyone that age, I don't agree with him on most things, but trash is the wrong word. Similar with most people I know on Facebook.

I am happy to call my friends with Twitter accounts trash, because it's pretty true.

Lumping Facebook with Twitter is Twitter's great scam.

They are nothing alike. And the misinformation is also nothing alike.

Twitter users: "Do something"

Twitter: "Sure, here's a forum, you deal with it"
