The high frequency traders will be all over this sort of thing if it makes it’s way into practical fibre optic communication cabling. They never met a millisecond that wasn’t worth the cost. Using cross country microwave relays to get milliseconds faster via the speed of light in air being faster than the speed of light in optic fibre cabling… yeah they would be all over this
