Then I saw this linked to it from 2022 about another Australian who didn’t know you have to book an onward flight:
He had no access to his phone or contact with his parents in Australia, and claimed he was placed in a cell with another prisoner who had smeared blood and faeces on the wall. He was told to sleep on a concrete floor with a paper bag for a pillow.
What's funny to me is how this has been sitting just under the surface in the US for a long, long time.
The veneer has finally worn through and we see the face of the United States that had one been latent but is now overt.
