Who owns AI-generated code? I would think the 'inventor' of the product the code is producing, since AI's can't invent products.

I think it's worth highlighting that these are semi-independent questions:

1. Can the output of an LLM be given a new copyright? (No, according to the precedent where a monkey taking a selfie does not have copyright to the picture.)

2. Can the output of an LLM infringe on an existing copyright? (Yes, or else we get to see very interesting things happen to some big incumbent companies.)
