The divulgational piece, original title:

# Engineers create revolutionary new sound effect paradigm by manipulating sound wave interactions

The paper, title and abstract:

# The Solid-State “Rotary” Speaker

This article presents the proof of concept for a novel solid-state “rotary” speaker. The device uses a circular array of speakers instead of moving parts to achieve sound modulation. For this, the signal is translated across the array electronically rather than mechanically. Inspired by the original Leslie speaker, this novel concept represents a new paradigm in instrument amplification and sound effects, capable of modulating physical sound waves outside the electronic and digital signal chains and without any moving parts.
