Ask HN: As a freelancer how should I charge my clients in AI era?

Hi HN!

As a freelancer, I usually do a requirements workshops + one or two months of development in the pre-ai era. Which was enough to pay the bills and save up. Now I can do things in a matter of days. Do I charge my clients the old time + rate, or just the new reality (which means I'd need more gigs in order to make the same amount of money)

Would love to hear your answers, cause charing them the previous moths feels 'off' but then again hard to win so many clients now to close the gap.

Ty!

I would suggest charging what the market will bear. If you can win clients at your old time + rate, and people are happy, then do that. But eventually, over time, you would expect you will have to lower prices due to supply and demand, as it seems you're already anticipating.

My question to you is how do you get clients!
