Fun story, but libraries occasionally get rid of things without removing all their labels. It's very possible it was discarded by the library rather than lent & overdue.

Unfortunately, no photo of said magazine. This is cool though:

This magazine, it looks nothing like anything you'd see on newsstands today. For one thing, it's over 200 pages long with a marbled hard cover.
