We have been asked how'd we know if the complaint was real?

Well, it wasn't an email from some random person claiming to represent the trademark owner. It actually was an authorized agent acting on the trademark owner's behalf.

We also received it through the proper abuse/complaint channel, with enough information to identify the trademark owner and the basis of the complaint.
