Hey folks, I'm trying to warm up to Hacker News, but am I the only one who thinks that the site looks like it's from another decade? The UI is horrible. Are there any reasons why this site looks the way it does?
There was another article submitted today lamenting the slowness of the modern internet, using nytimes.com as an example. Comparing that to this site gives, IMHO, a big part of the answer: don't try to fix what isn't broken. (I also disagree about the UI being horrible.)
