The good news is, America, we've progressed!
There was a time where no American university would want to showcase minority female students (or even allow females!) ... and now we have minor departments at major colleges cheating to make it look like they have such students. That truly is progress ...
... but c'mon Stanford, you don't demonstrate progress by lying with AI. You demonstrate it by actually having a diverse student body.
It's not progress. It's just flipping the discrimination in the other direction. Progress would be not noticing who needs more or less sunscreen in a photo.
When there is a long line of ANY minority group in ANY society being discriminated against, and that group gets closer to equality, that IS progress.
Equality would be if nobody thought to replace a hispanic guy with a black woman in an ad.
progress is not caring about skin color or what is between legs not obsession over that.

That's depressing. Why would a professor be using an AI chatbot regularly in class? What kind of example are they setting for their students?
Are they using it in class, or just generally IRL?
My wife is in a master's program. The professors are using AI to write their assignments, plenty of em dashes present.

I would be interested in the broader objective. Was the goal to misrepresent the student population?
Photographers have always had discretion and can present their portfolio as if it were a random sample of an event even if it was actually curated to appeal to a statistical goal. This has been how colleges have lied for years about their demographics.
The goal was money. In our society we have made mainstream the idea that a certain mixture of people is better than others, so naturally some institutions try to appear that they have the right mixture to attract more clients err students.
