I thought the article missed the mark and decided to experiment with IPv6 and update a Raspberry Pico project to use IPv6 multicast and also mDNS/DNS-SD.
In an afternoon I was able to get it working and running reliably. I'm not saying there aren't potential issues, either in my code, lwip (supported framework).
What I am saying is that ipv6 with ipv6 multicast instead of Broadcasting is approachable today. It's approachable on the desktop as well as microcontrollers for IoT uses.
Seriously, this was so easy to get working I'm thinking of expanding the usage of some IoT projects I've been languishing on.
