Hi HN, I’m Loris. We use Notion to write and edit our blog posts, and I wanted to share the setup that connects it to our website.
The workflow is simple: write an article in Notion, check Published, and the website picks it up through a webhook. Later edits follow the same path. The database stays private.
I’ve put together a Next.js 16 template with the code and setup instructions. You can run it with sample content before connecting your own Notion account.
A few details that might be useful:
- It uses the official Notion API.
- Integration webhooks work with a free Notion account.
- The TypeScript core has no runtime dependencies.
- The code is MIT licensed.
There are a few limits worth knowing before trying it. Webhooks are asynchronous, so publishing isn’t literally instant. Removing a post also won’t revoke images someone has already downloaded or cached.
I’d be interested to hear from anyone trying this on an existing site, especially where the setup doesn’t fit the way you organize your Notion database.
