The last few years (at least) have brought uncertainty and disarray to jobs in all sectors. I see a lot of comments & threads, here on HN and in other areas, about dysfunctional, difficult workplaces. The responses in these discussions are often full of support, empathy, and very knowledgeable takes on how to improve things. These responses are often coming from those who have earned a lot of wisdom through shaping their workplace, their role, or even just their relationship to their job. I'd like to hear more of this.
So: If you love your job, tell us about it.
- Why?
- Who was responsible for shaping the space for your role to be what it is?
- How does it fit into the rest of your life and into who you are, how you tick?
- What have you had to overcome, organizationally or personally?
- What advice would you give to those who are trying to make a better workplace, for themselves and for others?
I feel like management is finally starting to see the impact of lobbing slop grenades throughout the org. I hope this leads to a more balanced usage of gen-AI.
