I mean it did for me as well. Multiple times. And not just today. Always did set them (via Siri, mind you) for 19:30-40-45 and it always worked.
It couldn’t find a file that I know for a fact is on my iCloud, but never had a single problem setting up alarms for any time. It also, somehow and for whatever stupid reason, has stopped being able to identify actors from shows using the Siri camera and it could do it just fine (and rather usefully) on iOS 26. Not really sure what’s up with that.
But alarms and timers? No problem—not sure what’s the point of the article to be honest.
I’m not sure what is expected when the phrasing given to Siri is deliberately confusing.
“Set alarm clock at 8 hours minus 20”
Most people would have trouble with this too. Is this 8 o’clock or 8 hours from now… minus 20. It turns setting an alarm into a math problem and a guessing game.
If I had a personal assistant, that was human, I’d want to use clear language that the person would understand, not throw curveballs, then chastise them for mistakes I tried to force.
I just told Siri, “set an alarm for seven forty pm” and it worked first try.
